With the group separated, yet again, the show takes an amusing turn of sorts as Saeko and Takashi make their way towards Takagi's house. It's a long and dangerous process but the two have decided to do their best to get there. Takashi laments that the progress is slow on foot and wishes he had a bike again, which leads them to checking out a motorcycle shop where they pick up a really neat little amphibious vehicle that the two can ride, since riding on a motorcycle together may not be the best idea since she points out, amusingly, that it's not a date. The two have quite the thrill in racing down the streets like this, watching the world end around them, and wondering what they'll really do to survive in this world for a plan.

Putting Takashi and Saeko together is rather welcome at this point since he's paired off with Rei before and we haven't really gotten to know her all that well. The two of them have a decent chase scene with the infected before landing in the water and making their way to a sandbar in order to hide out for awhile. What this leads to is a couple of things. The first is that Saeko gets wet and that means see-through tops, lacy undergarments and a changing scene where she manages to ditch the school uniform and look even hotter. It also has her opening up a little bit to Takashi about herself while he attempts to not drool heavily over her assets. While the viewer never forgets that she's a girl, it's easy to see how that might happen to Takashi at times, considering their circumstances.

The time the two spend together later on reveals more of her past as we see an incident four years prior that made her question herself. Because of her skills, she's not one to be easily taken advantage of, even in middle school, so when a guy molests her while walking home at night she takes him down, rather hard at that. And what has frightened her ever since, and is weighing heavily on her mind now, is that she really enjoyed every moment of it. Having the ability and the enemy to do that to makes her feel more alive and powerful than anytime else, and now having so many opponents that she can cut loose against she's feeling it again but isn't sure what the best way to handle it is. Revealing this is a huge moment for Saeko, one that draws Takashi very close to her in a way that is and isn't surprising. When the world ends like this, the rules of society and politeness go out the window a bit, but they need to be retained to some extent in order to remain civilized in the face of extinction.

Don't look now, but it's already been more than 50 years — count 'em — since Rodgers' and Hammerstein's smash hit, The Sound of Music, debuted on Broadway in 1959. Better yet, you can still catch Wolf Trap's energetic revival of the show this weekend at the Filene Center, where it's playing through Sunday evening. It's loaded with popular songs that nearly everyone knows today — such as "Do-Re-Mi," "My Favorite Things," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "Edelweiss" and, of course, the title song.

The Sound of Music had a three-year run on Broadway before leaping to the silver screen in 1965 and making Julie Andrews an international star in her role as Maria. The original Broadway show copped eight Tony Awards, including awards for best musical and best score, while the film grabbed five Academy Awards. The latter is regarded today as perhaps the most popular film musical of all time.

Wolf Trap's production, made possible by collaboration with Atlanta's Theater of the Stars, assigns this starring role to winsome young Mandy Bruno. Burke Moses brings her great love, Baron Von Trapp, to vibrant life in this production.

For the uninitiated, The Sound of Music is a lavish yet compact musical retelling of the trials and triumphs of the real-life von Trapp family of Salzburg, Austria. Having lost his first wife to scarlet fever, the seafaring Captain/Baron Georg Von Trapp tries to raise his seven young children by himself with little success. That is, until sprightly, musical Maria arrives fresh from the convent to serve as governess to his brood, turning the kids into an impressive family choir.

An orphan herself, Maria has tried to become a nun, but is too full of life to adapt to the strict regimen of a religious order. It's clear God has other things in mind as she and the much-older Captain fall in love and marry—just in time to confront the anschluss, or bloodless takeover of Austria by Nazi Germany. A passionate Austrian nationalist very much opposed to this cynical usurpation of power, the Captain, with the help of Maria, must save their brood from Hitler's terror—and music proves to be the ticket to their redemption.

The Von Trapps actually escaped to America somewhat less dramatically, eventually ending up in Vermont where the current generation still presides over the high-class ski chalet and lodge the family established in 1950 after cementing their fame as a globetrotting family choir. The Sound of Music is a streamlined and rather romanticized version of their earlier years in Austria before the march of history transformed them all into Americans. Except for Georg Von Trapp, that is. He died in the late 1940s, still holding on to his Austrian citizenship.

Even after all these years, the sheer number of fabulous music moments in this show simply boggles the mind, making this a musical evening that delights and entertains almost by default. Wolf Trap's production is notable for its enthusiastic cast of fine singers young and old, with many of the extras and minor players actually having been hired locally.

This production has an easy, family feel, almost as if it were unfolding in your living room. And yet the singer/actors make each of the show's often-idiosyncratic behaviors believable, sympathetic, and sometimes even lovable. Except for the Nazis, of course.

Mandy Bruno proves to be a sparklig, winning Maria. Visually, she seems a bit young, at first, for the part. But then again, the real Maria was not much over twenty years of age when she married Georg Von Trapp.

"Comment from Alex Jones: Robert Rodriguez is a liar - when a script for Machete was leaked back in May, I pointed out that the film contained numerous elements that were highly offensive and could easily kick-start a race war. Rodriguez claimed that these scenes had been edited or removed for the final version. They were not – every part of the original script remains in the film almost word for word.

When a Cinco De Mayo political trailer for the movie was released in reaction to the Arizona immigration situation, Rodriguez again claimed that this was satire and not representative of the film. In fact, the movie contains everything that appeared in this trailer and a lot more (including Jessica Alba's provocative "the border crossed us" rallying cry).

This movie is sickening. Myself and six members of the Infowars team all left the theater feeling physically ill. The film opens with Texans butchering pregnant illegal aliens and the propaganda only gets more virulent, including references to serial killer Charles Manson's Helter Skelter vision of race war, sterotyping the Minutemen as murderers of illegal aliens, when in reality they have never harmed anyone, showing Texans butchering a priest, and talk of "resettling America" in the context of the extremist reconquista racial movement.

This movie is not a joke. It is race war propaganda hastily disguised behind a stylized, bloodthirsty black comedy.

If a white person had directed a movie about hispanics being sub-human devils who want to kill everybody there would have been an uproar, but Rodriguez can demonize an entire race of people, along with Texans in general, in a similar vein and the establishment media treats it all as a cutsie joke. This is disgusting."
